Meet The Team
Dan Sier, BSc (Hons), MSc
Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist
Dan graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy. He has over 20 years of dedicated experience working with individuals affected by neurological conditions.
Throughout his career, Dan has developed extensive expertise in the assessment and management of complex physical and neurological pathologies, delivering specialist, patient-centred care.
In 2012, Dan established Doncaster Neurological Physiotherapy with a clear vision: to provide personalised, client-focused rehabilitation that empowers individuals and promotes independence.
He recognised the importance of delivering therapy within clients’ homes, supporting their journey towards regaining independence and reintegrating into the community.
To expand the scope of services, Dan partnered with Scott Ewen in 2022 to co-found CNS Physiotherapy. This new venture was created to meet the increasing demand for physiotherapy across a broader range of conditions, including orthopaedic injuries, frailty and falls, and learning disabilities—while continuing to provide specialist care for those with long-term neurological conditions.
Dan remains committed to multidisciplinary collaboration, working closely with other healthcare providers and support services to ensure holistic care for his clients.
Passionate about professional development, Dan continually seeks to expand his clinical knowledge and actively supports the growth of others in the field.
He has completed advanced training in the Bobath Concept and Functional Electrical Stimulation, and in 2012, earned a Master of Science in Advancing Neurological Physiotherapy.
Outside of his professional role, Dan enjoys travelling, spending quality time with his family, playing badminton, squash and going to the gym.
Scott Ewen, BSc (Hons)
Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist
Scott graduated with First Class Honours in BSc Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University. Prior to joining CNS Physiotherapy full-time, he gained valuable clinical experience within the NHS across a variety of settings, including acute stroke wards, community rehabilitation, and multiple rotational placements.
For two years, Scott also worked with Doncaster Neurological Physiotherapy alongside his NHS role, delivering community-based care to clients with a wide range of neurological and physical needs.
His approach to rehabilitation is firmly rooted in function and individualisation, aiming to empower clients so that progress continues well beyond each session.
Scott has a particular interest in inclusive sport and is passionate about making physical activity accessible for individuals with disabilities.
This interest was sparked through his involvement with the Yorkshire and England disability cricket squads, where he had the opportunity to play alongside and build friendships with team members. Witnessing the positive impact of sport on confidence, purpose, and quality of life has further driven his commitment to inclusive rehabilitation.
In addition to his physiotherapy qualifications, Scott holds an enhanced DBS certificate and has completed further training as an exercise instructor and acupuncturist.
Scott currently provides high-quality, home-based neurological physiotherapy across Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Gainsborough, and Bassetlaw.
Outside of work, Scott enjoys staying active through football, cricket, golf, and resistance training.
Stan Gibbons
Rehabilitation Assistant
Stan brings a wealth of experience to the team, having worked in healthcare for over 15 years, including five years as a Senior Rehabilitation Assistant specialising in neurological conditions.
He retired from the NHS in 2022, following a diverse and impactful career.
Stan began his journey in healthcare on an Assessment and Treatment Unit (ATU), supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs as a Nursing Assistant.
To further his professional development, he completed an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care in 2009 and an NCFE Level 2 in Mental Health Awareness in 2013.
He later worked as a Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant on a rehabilitation ward for older adults recovering from injuries related to falls, where he developed a strong understanding of age-related rehabilitation needs.
In 2017, Stan transitioned to a community-based role as a Senior Rehabilitation Assistant, working with clients with complex neurological conditions.
He played a key role in supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Specialist Nurse and maintained regular contact with clients to assist with ongoing care. As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), Stan also mentored junior staff and provided regular supervision to other rehabilitation assistants.
Outside of his professional work, Stan enjoys spending quality time with his family. A former sports enthusiast, he now enjoys watching football and other sports. He’s also a keen DIY enthusiast and enjoys socialising with friends, as well as spending relaxing weekends at the coast in his caravan.
Justin Wickes
Rehabilitation Assistant
Justin joined our team in January 2025 and has quickly become a valued member of our practice. With a growing portfolio of hands-on experience, he has worked closely with individuals living with neurological conditions and learning disabilities.
He has trained alongside skilled physiotherapists, gaining a solid foundation in rehabilitation techniques.
Alongside his physiotherapy work, Justin has also worked under Occupational Therapists, gaining hands-on experience in supporting clients through a multidisciplinary approach.
Justin's passion for helping others is deeply rooted. Prior to joining the team, he dedicated eighteen months to volunteering at a local youth centre, where he supported young people through mentoring and community engagement.
His personal journey with hip dysplasia has given him a unique insight into the challenges and transformative impact of physiotherapy.
After undergoing a Periacetabular Osteotomy (PAO) surgery, Justin experienced three months of intensive rehabilitation. This firsthand experience has only increased his drive to support others through their own recovery journeys.
When he’s not at work, Justin enjoys keeping active by going to the gym, walking in the countryside, and staying engaged with his love for reading and football.
Noel Burdett
Rehabilitation Assistant
3rd Year BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Student – York St John University
Noel is a dedicated final-year Physiotherapy undergraduate at York St John University, with a solid clinical foundation developed through multiple NHS placements, including Stroke, Respiratory, and Community-based Rehabilitation.
Alongside his academic studies, Noel has gained valuable hands-on experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant, working with clients at CNS Physiotherapy.
His connection with CNS began in his first and second years at university while recovering from football-related injuries—an experience that deepened his understanding of rehabilitation and strengthened his passion for physiotherapy.
Noel’s interest in rehabilitation began during his time as a professional footballer, having signed a two-year contract with Scunthorpe United during their time in the English Football League.
After experiencing several injuries throughout his playing career, he was inspired to pursue a career in physiotherapy, aiming to support and motivate others through their recovery journeys.
Outside of work and study, Noel enjoys spending time with friends and family and is actively involved in managing a local Sunday League football team.
Elise Johnson
Senior Physiotherapist
Elise graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2021 and began her career in the NHS, gaining broad clinical experience through rotations in mental health, learning disabilities, and stroke rehabilitation.
Her drive to support individuals on their recovery journeys led her to Glasgow, where she worked within specialist mental health services, focusing on alcohol and drug recovery.
Following her time in Scotland, Elise returned to Doncaster to continue her work with the NHS.
There, she developed her expertise in community care, with a particular focus on frailty and falls prevention, working across both inpatient and community settings.
Elise's passion for physiotherapy is deeply rooted in her lifelong involvement in sport—most notably taekwondo, where she has represented Great Britain on multiple occasions, including at the Commonwealth Games.
Outside of work, Elise enjoys staying active, travelling to new places, and exploring the outdoors with her dog.
